Obtaining Armenian citizenship grants the right to visa-free or simplified entry to several countries, the ability to participate in the political life of the state, and access to various social and economic privileges. Who is Eligible?
Reasons for obtaining:
🟥 Persons of Armenian descent:Those with Armenian roots who wish to restore their historical connection with the homeland (grandparents, parents, or any other relatives).
🟦 Foreign citizens: Those who have lived in Armenia for at least three years on legal grounds and have knowledge of the Armenian language.
🟧 Spouses of Armenian citizens: Those married to an Armenian citizen for at least two years and living in Armenia.
Requirements
To apply for Armenian citizenship, you need to meet the following criteria:
✔ Foreign citizens: permanent residence in the territory of Armenia for at least three years (temporary residence permit, permanent residence permit or registration at the place of residence).
✔ Ethnic Armenians: documents confirming kinship.
✔ Marriage: availability of a marriage certificate with a citizen of the Republic of Armenia.

Preparation of documents
- Gather all necessary documents in original and copy.
- Translation and confirmation: Documents in a foreign language must be translated into Armenian and notarized.

- Contacting the Passport and Visa Department: Visit the Passport and Visa Department or the Armenian consular office abroad.
- Submitting an application and documents: Provide a complete set of documents and a completed application.
- Payment of the fee: Pay the state fee and keep the receipt
